  • Your cost of travel to Anchorage before the hunt begins, and the cost of getting home from Anchorage.

  • Any lodging in Anchorage before or after the hunt

  • The costs of your processing and shipping trophies and meat which will vary by the things like the type of trophy, amount of meat, which taxidermist / tanner you use, which shipping service you use, etc.

  • Gratuities / Tips for your guides if you choose to do so

  • Camp food will be available from your guide from pickup to drop-off in Anchorage, but as we are traveling to and from camp, you may choose to dine out at a restaurant or purchase souvenirs along the way.

  • During the Spring Bear Hunts, there is a full service lodge in the area where you can stay for a night or two of luxury during your hunt, and any costs for that you would pay directly to the lodge.

    3.  Are there any extra costs associated with charter flights or bush plane drop offs or flying once you have arrived in Anchorage ?  NO

    5.  How much weight are you expected to carry while hunting on foot and am I expected to carry a backpack ?  YES, as far as weight, a bare minimum would be around 10 pounds but likely most folks minimal gear weight will be around 15 - 20 pounds (not including weight of your own weapons and ammo or arrows/bolts )

    6.  Will you be expected to help pack a Dall Sheep after it is harvested ?  NO (although we would gladly welcome any help you might want to offer)it is NEITHER EXPECTED NOR REQUIRED.

    7.  Can artificial light be used to hunt wolves, wolverines and other animals on these hunts ?  NO

    8.  Will we be carrying tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads and gear for setting Spike Camps on our backs ?  NO, although under certain circumstances this option might be explored.  On the Fall hunts we head out on foot from base camp daily (unless conditions prevent it) and usually carry our packs, weapons, optics, gear, water and lunch with us and we return to Base Camp before dark.

    9.  What is the average distance shot on Dall Sheep by clients?  Roughly 150 Yards

    10.  What is the average shot distance on Grizzly Bear that by clients? Just under 100 yards

    19.  Are we required to pack out the meat of any Bears ?  NO. Legally you are not required to. With the EXCEPTION of Black Bears harvested in the Spring through May 31 which are required to have their meat salvaged.  However, I do encourage Bear hunting clients to take some bear meat. We usually cook some up in camp, and everyone so far has been pleasantly surprised with how palatable it is (and this goes for both the Grizzly Bear & Black Bear Meat).

    20.  How many other Hunting Clients will be in Camp ?  I would never plan on having more than 2 clients in a camp for a given hunt, however the bulk of my current hunts are limited to 1 client only.

    21.  How many Guides will be helping on the hunt ?  Depends on if it is a Spring Bear Hunt or a Fall Hunt, in the Spring I may be the only guide guiding you, but there is a possibility of having a second guide helping in the Spring as well and a Packer/General Camp Helper.  In the Fall there will likely be at least 2 licensed Guides in camp and sometimes 3, regardless if there is only 1 hunting client with us on the hunt, as well as likely a Packer/General Camp Helper.
